LATE-INNING LIGHTNING: Soderstrom & Langeliers Power Walk-Off Win

The A’s took a quiet lead early when Soderstrom doubled and Hernaiz drove him in with a sacrifice fly in the second inning. Things went mostly quiet after that, until Soderstrom launched a solo homer in the fourth to push the score to 2–0. The Twins clawed back in the fifth with two runs as Outman and Larnach sparked the rally—culprits included a double, single, and timely walks, knotting the game at 2–2 by game's end. For much of the night, pitching held steady on both sides, trading zeroes and tense at-bats under Target Field’s bright summer lights. 

In the bottom of the tenth, after nine uneventful frames, the A’s finally broke the stalemate.Langeliers delivered the killer blow with a two-run homer to right-center, pushing the final score to 4–2. Kelly earned the win in relief, and Ferguson sealed the deal, keeping a Twins rally at bay. The A’s walked off victorious in dramatic fashion, sweeping the Twins in this mini-series and inching a little closer in the AL West race—making this one of those games where patience, persistence, and a late blow turned the tide.
