Nick Schmaltz is TAKING OVER the NHL | Mammoth Beat Devils 5-3

Nick Schmaltz is leading the ENTIRE NHL in goals, and the Utah Mammoth power play is straight-up cooking. 🔥

The Mammoth beat the New Jersey Devils 5-3. Schmaltz stuffed the stat sheet with a goal and 2 assists and now has 5 goals and 7 points through 4 games. Tom Callahan, former NHL play-by-play voice and hockey executive, breaks down why Utah's power play (2-for-4 tonight, 8 PPG on the year) is a nightmare for opposing penalty kills. He also covers Vincent Trocheck's first goal as a Mammoth, Clayton Keller's 3-point night, and the defensive lapses that should still worry you.

Plus: Mikhail Sergachev takes a puck to the head and doesn't return after a 3-assist night. If he misses time, how should Utah shuffle the D pairs? Nick DeSimone waits in the wings, and a Tucson call-up is possible.

Looking ahead: JJ Peterka comes back to face his old team when Boston visits, and Buffalo closes out the Eastern road trip. Is it time for Sebastian Cossa to get more starts?
