The Calgary Flames fell to a dismal 0-3 start after suffering a 6-1 defeat against the Seattle Kraken on October 5, 2026. Mackie Samoskevich led Seattle with two goals and two assists, exposing significant flaws in Calgary's defensive structure and special teams. Morgan Frost recorded the lone Flames goal, assisted by Joel Farabee, while key injuries to Jonathan Huberdeau, Jake O'Brien, and Jacob Melanson continue to hamper the roster.

In this reaction episode, hosts Vanessa and Nick analyze the box score, highlighting the offensive stagnation and the dominant performance by Mackie Samoskevich. The discussion covers the ineffective forecheck, poor neutral-zone play, and the struggles of defenders Simon Nemec and Zach Whitecloud. Goaltending concerns are also addressed as the team prepares for the upcoming match against the Colorado Avalanche.

Key topics include the impact of injuries on the penalty kill, lineup adjustments for Martin Pospisil and Morgan Frost, and the need for simplified gameplay. The hosts evaluate whether Devin Cooley or Dustin Wolf should start against Colorado, emphasizing the urgent need to improve zone entries and defensive coverage to avoid further losses.
