Matthew 26:26–46 moves from the institution of the Lord’s Supper, where Jesus identifies the bread and cup with His body and blood, to His prediction of the disciples’ failure. It then leads into Gethsemane, where Jesus wrestles in deep anguish yet submits fully to the Father’s will. The passage highlights both human weakness and divine obedience, as the disciples falter while Jesus remains faithful to the path of the cross.
