The New York Yankees scored both runs in the bottom of the 9th inning to earn the walk off win and take the series opener. Aaron Judge started the rally, followed by Alex Verdugo’s single, a Gioncarlo Stanton RBI double and the game-winning RBI single off the bat of Anthony Rizzo. Detroit’s offense struggled all game and could not muster anything aside from Colt Keith’s bases loaded walk in the sixth inning. Tigers probable starter is Casey Mize.
