PHILLIES POSTCAST: Sanchez & Walker combine to shutout the Rays in 7-0 win

Cristopher Sanchez and Taijuan Walker combined to shutout the Tampa Bay Rays in 7-0 win as the Phillies bats stayed hot!

Trea Turner got the offense going in the 3rd inning with a solo homer to left field, his 2nd of the season.

The Phillies really took control in the 4th inning when they pushed five runs across the plate. Johan Rojas brought in a run on a sac bunt, followed by back-to-back RBI singles from Bryson Stott and Trea Turner. The scoring was capped off in the frame by a two-run double from Bryce Harper who drilled a 1-1 knuckle curve into the left/center field gap.

All that offense backed Cristopher Sanchez’ night. The lefty tossed six-scoreless innings of one-hit baseball while walking three and striking out five.

Stott added his second RBI of the night with a single in the 6th, bringing home Rojas.

When Sanchez’ night was done, Taijuan Walker took the ball and struck out seven batters over his three innings of work. He picked up his first career save.
