RED SOX POSTCAST: Crochet Wins 17th & Bats Come Alive Late in Win Over The Rays

The Red Sox (84-70) opened up their final road trip of the season with an 11-7 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays Friday night at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, FL. With the win, the Sox are now 11-4 over their last 15 road games. The Red Sox have won 7 in a row vs. Tampa Bay and the Sox are 9-2 overall against the Rays this season.

Crochet Day: Garrett Crochet took the mound for the start in the series opener against the Rays Friday night and turned in a quality outing. Crochet gave up single runs over each of the 1st 3 Innings but did not allow a run over his final 3 Innings of work. Crochet gave up solo Home Runs to Yandy Diaz and Carlson Williams. He walked 3, struck out 9 and had 19 swings and misses in his outing. He left with a 4-3 lead and picked up his 17th win. The Sox are 6-0 in his last 6 starts and 16-3 in Crochet's last 19 outings. Crochet has now allowed 3 runs or less in 25 of his 31 starts this season.

Sox at the Dish: The Sox tied the game at 1-1 in the 2nd Inning with Nate Eaton reaching with an infield Single and scoring all the way from 1st-Base on a Single from Nathaniel Lowe. Alex Bregman tied the game at 2-2 with a solo Home Run in the 3rd. It's Bregman's 18th of the season and just his 2nd in his last 33 games. Jarren Duran put the Red Sox in front with a 2-run Home Run in the 7th Inning. It is Duran's 16th Home Run of the season and his 4th this season versus a left-handed pitcher. The Sox sent 13 hitters to the plate in the 8th and broke the game open with 7 runs.
