Ingredients

• 2 oz rye whiskey (or bonded bourbon if you want it rounder)
• ½ oz Averna or other amaro (for depth and hard-earned wisdom)
• ¼ oz honey syrup (1:1 honey + warm water)
• 2 dashes Angostura bitters
• 1 dash orange bitters
• Orange peel (expressed)

Instructions1. Add whiskey, amaro, honey syrup, and bitters to a mixing glass with ice.2. Stir until well chilled and properly diluted (about 20–25 seconds).3. Strain into a rocks glass over a large cube.4. Express an orange peel over the drink, rim the glass, and discard or drop in.
