Gather 'round as we sit down to discuss the latest developments on our homestead, future projects, and exciting updates. As the seasons change, so do our plans, and we can't wait to share them with you. First and foremost, we have some exciting news: Goldie has had her calf! You might see a video soon or perhaps some shorts on this adorable addition to our farm. While new calf videos might not be everyone's cup of tea, we'll capture the magic as it unfolds. Now, let's dive into the heart of our homestead: Garden Renovation: We're revamping our garden with beautiful vego garden beds, aiming to make our garden even more productive and stunning. Back Pasture: The waterline project is complete! We're thrilled to announce this major milestone. Up next is building the H braces, budgeting for Timeless T posts (as recommended by Greg Judy), and securing the wire for the pasture fence. These white Timeless T posts not only look great but are also incredibly practical. Permaculture: We've got Kelly taking the lead on some exciting permaculture initiatives, including pocket ponds, the introduction of fodder trees, meat chickens, drought-proofing strategies for our land, and the art of creating biochar by burning brush. Our chickens are even joining the compost and biochar production team! More Rain Tanks: In our quest to optimize water management, we're adding more rain tanks to harness this precious resource. Front Fence Rebuild: Our mischievous dogs have been escaping, so it's time to rebuild our front fence to keep them safe and sound. Pond: We'll discuss trimming trees, weed-eating the dam, and upgrading the aerator to keep our pond healthy and thriving. Fall Rye Grass and Cool Cover Crops: We're preparing for the planting season, including fall rye grass and other cool cover crops to enrich our soil. Tractor Update: Our farm workhorse needs some TLC, and we're exploring the idea of adding a mower and grapple attachment. However, the budget is still under consideration. YouTube Update: We've got exciting news on the YouTube front. We've launched a brand new channel dedicated to "Shed to House." To better serve our audiences, we've separated content that may interest different groups. You can check out the new channel via the link below and join us on this new journey. Thanks for being part of our farming community, and we look forward to sharing our progress, insights, and adventures in the upcoming season. Don't forget to subscribe and stay tuned for more engaging content and updates.
