Goodison Park’s future decided as historical ground set to stay

Goodison Park is set to become the home of Everton Women in a move that will retain the club’s presence in its historic home. The men’s team will play its final game at the Grand Old Lady on Sunday, ending 133 years of footballing heritage before the club moves to a new state-of-the art home on the Liverpool waterfront. Thousands of supporters will line the surrounding streets to welcome the players ahead of the game against Southampton and celebrations will continue on the pitch after the final whistle. The game will no longer mark the end of competitive football at the Goodison Road site, however, after the results of a feasibility study conducted by the club paved the way for the women’s team move.
