Keith Morris Part 1: BLACK FLAG

No need to have a nervous breakdown, we've finally got the legendary KEITH MORRIS on HardLore, one of the founding fathers of hardcore music.

In part 1 of this incredible 4+ hour two-part special, we start at the beginning with Keith's introduction to music (he's a big fan) and deep dive into starting Panic (eventually known as BLACK FLAG) with Greg Ginn, what early punk rock was like in the South Bay and greater LA area in the late 70s, how Black Flag finally became Black Flag, recruiting the rest of the band, the incomparable artistic contributions of the great Raymond Pettibon, recording NERVOUS BREAKDOWN (and re-recording most of it with Circle Jerks), why and how he ultimately left the band, and so much more...

Thanks to my incredible co-host Anthony Anzaldo of Ceremony for the fantastic assist and great questions/insight as always.

Next week we pick up right where we leave off, with the beginning of the Circle Jerks... Grab a copy of Circle Jerks - Revenge of Nervous Breakdown, their first recording in 30 years, while you still can: https://linktr.ee/circlejerks
