Luka Dončić Drops 35, Austin Reaves 38 as Lakers Beat Dallas 129-119

It wasn't necessarily the sharpest effort the Lakers have put out all year, but it was more than good enough. 

The Lakers used highly efficient nights from Luka Dončić (35 points on only 18 field goal attempts), Austin Reaves (12-15 from the floor, 6-8 from 3-point range, 38 points) and Deandre Ayton (8-9 from the floor) to push past Anthony Davis and the visiting Dallas Mavericks, 129-119. As a team, the Lakers shot nearly 60 percent from the floor. they were 21-26 from the line, and 18-35 from three. Clearly this was a very good offensive night against one of the better defensive teams in the West. 

Defensively? The Lakers were less sharp, and some ill-timed TOs among their 14 helped the Mavs stick closer than maybe they should have. Some of the motion used by Dallas gave the Lakers some trouble, but overall when they needed stops to create some space, the Lakers got them. 

They've won their Group in NBA Cup play, and will host the Spurs in the quarterfinals. 

Meanwhile, they continue to stack up wins, with another opportunity coming Sunday against a bad Pelicans squad.
