Matthew 24:3- The Unsettled Dilemma: When Will These Things Happen?

Jesus has declared that the Temple will be utterly destroyed. The disciples know what is coming. Their unsettled dilemma is when.

“Tell us, when will these things happen, & what will be the sign of Your coming, & of the end of the age?” — Matthew 24:3

These are not the speculative questions of prophecy-chart enthusiasts. They are the trembling questions of men whose entire covenantal world has just been shaken.

The Temple will fall. The Old Covenant age will end. The Son of Man will be vindicated. The Kingdom will no longer be centered in Jerusalem, but in the risen Christ ruling from heaven.
