Metal Geeks 288: Onwards to Geekery!
Cary the Metal Geek, Brutal Dave, and Kim, the Mrs. Metal Geek, are back for another round of geekery! The crew kicks things off with the Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and Anthrax tour stop in San Antonio, a review of Rush in Houston, and a rundown of Cary’s New York adventures, including New York Comic Con, Rocky Horror on Broadway, and Kevin Smith Day in Jersey. They also pay tribute to Richard “Levelord” Gray and share details on the Texasylum Poster Show, happening November 7–8 at Equal Parts Brewing in Houston.
Then it’s time for what we’ve been watching, reading, and exploring across the geekiverse, including Moana, Lanterns, Ted Lasso, Riot Women, VisionQuest, and Joe Rohde’s book. On the gaming front, we discuss Hellraiser: Revival and Gears of War: E-Day, plus catch up on games we went back and finished, including MOUSE: P.I. For Hire, RoboCop: Rogue City, SCORN, and Blasphemous.
Finally, we crank up the volume with music discussions featuring Anthrax’s Cursum Perficio, Insomnium’s Netherworlds, Enslaved’s Mid, Brymir’s What We Leave Behind, Zornheym’s Descending Into Madness, Sgaile’s Onwards to Embrace the Echo, Lacrimas Profundere’s Lay Me Down O Silent Fear, The Flower Kings’ Hope, Early Moods’ Ready for the Grave, and Accept’s 50th-anniversary album. There’s also a little TOO MUCH VOYAGER and a dose of Lammoth to round things out.
