OFFER SHEET CHAOS! Carolina Hurricanes Rumored to be Interested in Simon Edvinsson

During the mega final episode of 32 Thoughts before the summer break, Elliotte Freidman stated that the Carolina Hurricanes were looking to offer sheet a couple of players. One of them as Leo Carlsson, but the one that caught everyone's attention was Detroit Red Wings' Simon Edvinsson. That being said, does it make sense for the Hurricanes to offer sheet for Edvinsson, and would the Red Wings match it?
