This summer has been all about sports. I've been glued to the TV, watching Wimbledon, the Euros, and the Olympic Tryouts. While admiring the Olympic gymnastics tryouts, especially Simone Biles' incredible routine, I started thinking about the economics of the Olympic Games. The event is a massive spectacle involving sports, athletes, arenas, advertising, and fans, and it's all deeply intertwined with money.
