Oncology, Etc. – The Diversity Mission with Dr Edith Mitchell

Increasing diversity in the field of oncology is an ongoing task. Our next guest has made it her mission to increase those ranks as well as becoming the first African American woman to be a Brigadier General in the US Air Force. Dr. Edith Mitchell describes her early years growing up in rural Tennessee (2:52), the motivation for joining the Air Force in the 70’s (7:33) and strategizing to increase ethnic diversity in medicine and oncology (16:53).
