POSTCAST: MISCUE By Lindor WASTES Dazzling Outing From Zach Thornton

Zach Thornton was brilliant for the New York Mets, but a 9th inning error by Francisco Lindor allowed the Boston Red Sox to come back and SWEEP the Mets. 

Lindor was the source of the Mets two runs in this one, deliver two run-scoring extra base hits including a home run. Unfortunately, Lindor misplayed a ground ball that might have been a game-ending double play. Instead, the inning continued and the Red Sox scored twice to force the game into extras where they took a 3-2 lead. 

Thornton, in his third big league start, put together a gem. Seven scoreless innings that saw him pitch to contact and work very quickly to hold the Red Sox off the board. 

This game very much was a prime example of what has gone wrong for the Mets this season, who now head into the All-Star break.
