“But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.” (Psalm 1:2)
Loves God’s Word
· Reads the Bible during personal quiet time
· Reads/teaches the Bible to our family
· Has a hunger for learning God’s Word
· Takes family to church
Lives Out God’s Word
· Repents of sin
· Aligns his life with the Word
· Knows what the scripture says
· Ready to speak scripture in any situation
· Always thinking on God’s Word
Prayer Day 4: Consequence
“He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.” (Psalm 1:3)
Strength & Power
· Recognizing the sovereignty of God
· Know God’s calling on his life
· Rely on God for everything
Fruitfulness
· Bearing fruits of the spirit
· Use spiritual gifts and talents for God’s glory
· Blessing to others
· Useful in the kingdom of God
Perseverance
· When God is correcting and guiding
· When trials come
· When others are less committed
Prosperity
· Love the Lord
· In accordance with God’s will
· Spirit of Excellence
Prayer Day 5: Contrast & Conclusion
“The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.” (Psalm 1:4-6)
Righteous living
· Obviously different from ungodly
· Useful for God’s kingdom
· Growing in relationship with God
Eternal significance
· Salvation
· Follower of Jesus
· Storing up treasure in Heaven
