The two have dealt with various injuries in the last two years, keeping the team from its potential. Any chance the Magic have for success starts with them and performing at an All-Star level. Everything else will fall into place from there. The Magic need their stars to justify the rising cost of this roster.

A lot of that attention has focused on Paolo Banchero and his efficiency. Banchero is not the darling of the analytics crowd even if the eye test says he commands a lot of attention and steps up in big moments in the Playoffs when the pressure is at its highest.

This season is a statement for him after a frustrating 2026 season where both the analytics and intangibles did not fall his way.
