403: Golf's First Super Shoe? The ParLinx P-1

Golf's First Super Shoe? Inside ParLinx Performance

What happens when a lifelong golfer and a former Nike footwear designer decide to rethink everything about golf shoes?

On this special interview episode of The Chasing Daylight Podcast, Matt sits down with Brian Kelly and Peter Backus, the co-founders of ParLinx Performance, to explore their innovative P-1 golf shoe.

Peter brings more than 30 years of footwear design experience, including work with Nike, Oakley, and The North Face. His career includes Nike running shoes, early Tiger Woods golf footwear, and the first Jordan golf shoe.

Now, he's bringing that experience to ParLinx.

The P-1 isn't designed to look or perform like a traditional golf shoe. Featuring a specially tuned carbon-fiber plate, a unique multi-layer spikeless traction system, and running-shoe-inspired cushioning, ParLinx believes it's created something entirely different.

But does the technology actually deliver on the golf course?

Matt has spent considerable time playing in the ParLinx P-1, and he shares his firsthand experience with comfort, stability, durability, and traction.

In This Episode:

• The story behind ParLinx Performance and its founders.
• Peter Backus's experience designing shoes for Nike and Jordan.
• Why ParLinx calls the P-1 "Golf's First Super Shoe."
• How carbon-fiber plates can influence walking comfort and swing stability.
• The engineering behind the shoe's unique spikeless traction.
• Why comfort doesn't have to come at the expense of performance.
• Waterproof versus water-resistant golf shoes.
• Bringing basketball-inspired sneaker styling to golf.
• What's next for ParLinx, including new designs and future products.

Whether you're a golfer who walks every round, a sneaker enthusiast, or someone looking for a different approach to golf footwear, this conversation is worth checking out.
