Luke 23:26–49 describes Jesus being led to crucifixion, where He speaks words of compassion and warning, even as He suffers, and is crucified between criminals. While one criminal mocks Him, the other expresses faith and is promised paradise, highlighting both rejection and repentance at the cross. As Jesus dies, darkness falls, the temple curtain is torn, and a centurion declares His innocence, revealing the significance of His death and the response it evokes.
