RED SOX POSTCAST: Sox Call It A Comeback!; Club Walks Off in the 10th

The Red Sox (83-69) walked off with a 5-4, 10-Inning win over the Athletics in front of a sellout crowd of 36,404 at Fenway Park Wednesday night. Nate Eaton scored the winning run on a groundball off the bat of pinch-hitter Nick Sogard. The throw to the plate from 2nd-baseman Zack Gelof arrived late with Eaton scoring on the head-first slide. The Sox even up the series at 1-1 and are now 2-3 on their current 6-game homestand. With the loss, the Athletics 5-game win streak came to an end.

Going with Gio: Lucas Giolito made the mound start for the Red Sox Wednesday night. Giolito did not make it out of the 5th Inning, and he exited with the bases loaded. Justin Wilson entered with the 3 runners on base and all 3 inherited runners eventually scored. Giolito was charged with 4 earned runs on 5 hits. He walked 5 and struck out 5. He was taken off the loss for the loss after the Sox came back and tied the game up at 4-4 in the 6th Inning.

Sox at the Dish: The Red Sox got on the board in the 1st Inning on a 2-out RBI Single from Masa Yoshida. After the Athletics tied the game at 1-1 in the Top of the

2nd, Rob Refsnyder made it 2-1 with his 9th Home Run of the season. The Sox scored a run in the 5th but ended up leaving the bases loaded. Trevor Story tied the

game at 4-4 with a 2-out RBI Single in the 6th Inning and the Sox left 2 runners on base.

--It's the Sox 36th comeback win of the season and their 11th walk-off win.

--The Sox are now 57-21 on the season when scoring 1st.

--The Red Sox improved to 8-12 in extra-innings and 7-4 at home.

--Trevor Story stole base in the 6th Inning to make it a perfect 31-for-31 in stolen base attempts on the season. Story was cut down on a caught stealing to end the 

8th Inning with Alex Bregman at the plate. It was his 1st caught-stealing of the season.

The Sox take to the road for their final road trip of the Regular Season starting Friday night with the 1st of 3 against the Rays in Tampa, FL.
