Welcome!
First off! I apologize for the dead air space, I am using a different recording platform that apparently does not like my taste in music :-) And, as you cat lovers can relate to, I had to attend to my cat's needs. :-)
This episode explores the term "Treat Motivated" referencing common scientific studies to determine what this really means and if the focus on treat motivation means the study is missing some very important information about our dogs!
Secondly, I use the example of a client of a student in the CCBT Diploma Program at the Institute of Canine Psychotherapy to discuss the challenges in using Conditioning Methods with dogs that are not "treat motivated"
And, finally, is "treat motivated" an advantage when adopting a dog?
Be sure to check out www.instituteofcaninepsychotherapy.com for info! Our students are making waves in the canine behavioral and welfare sectors!
Thanks to the Jeff Mertick Band for the silent music :-)
