In today’s episode I look at the comparison theory, introduced by psychologist Leon Fiestinger in the 1950’s. Comparing ourselves to others is a very natural thing for us to do, but is it always right for our mental health and feeling of self-worth? I think that it is unfair for us to judge ourselves to others because we will never have a full picture of what their life is. We do however, have a very clear picture of who we are. So, I suggest if you want to compare yourself to anyone, compare yourself to your past self. Look at where you are today from 10 years ago. Look at where you are today and what you need to do, to accomplish your goals for the future. When we compare ourselves to our self vs. others, the possibilities are endless. There is always room to move up and do better.
