Sheikh Idrees Muhammad Abkar made his way into this world in Jeddah city in 1975. He is Qari who needs no introduction and is a great, talented Quran reciter. From an early age of eight years, he started getting Quran education in Masjid-ut-Tawheed and by the age of 13, he had already joined the Hifdh ul Quran groups in Masjid ul Fatini. He was imparted education by the best in the field which included big names like Yusuf Al Ahmadi, Abdelwahab Al Ahmadi, Awda Addahri, Abdellah Alqarni, Hadi Said, and Mohammed Rafii. Idrees Muhammad Abkar mastered the Quran under the able and diligent guidance of esteemed Sheikhs like Sheikh Yusuf Al Ahmady, Shaikh Abdul Wahab Al-Ahmady, Shaikh Odah Al-Zahery, Shaikh Abdullah Al-Qarni and Shaikh Hadi Said. The designation of Shaykh Idrees Abkar was a great choice given his extensive finesse in leading prayers and he managed to do this job with great ease and interest. He has led prayers in Masjid Al-Fatima, Masjid Ibn-Taymiyyah, Masjid Al-Qahtani, Masjid of Assad Ibn Al Hadeer, Masjid Ibn Arqam, Masjid Seliem al Araby and Masjid Bagaber. He has had the privilege of leading Tarawih prayers in many countries of the world such as Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, and number of other countries in Africa and Asia. He was officially appointed as the official Imam of Sheikh Zayed Grand Masjid in Abu Dhabi, UAE on Saturday November 23rd, 2013 where he holds this position till date.

Bilal Assad
Bilal Assad was born in Williamstown, Melbourne, Australia. He started his Islamic studies at a very early age and acquired his Shariah knowledge in Lebanon; and continued tertiary education in Biomedical Science in Australia. Bilal has been offering his service to the community for many years and has been working with the Islamic Society of Victoria for over ten years.
Bilal Philips
Dr. Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and grew up in Toronto, where he converted to Islam in 1972. His whole life has been exemplified by his goal of seeking and conveying Islamic knowledge in order to “Change the Muslim Nation through Islamic Education.” In preparation for this goal, he first acquired a B.A. from the College of Islamic Disciplines at the Islamic University of Medina (1979), then an M.A. in aqeedah (Islamic Theology) from King Saud University in Riyadh (1985), and finally a PhD in Islamic Theology from the University of Wales (1994). Interestingly enough, His PhD thesis was on “The Exorcist Tradition in Islam”. After graduation from the University of Medina, Dr Bilal spent ten years teaching Islamic studies in an Islamic high school in Riyadh, and another ten years lecturing in Arabic and Islamic studies in the American University in Dubai, UAE. In 1994 he founded the first Islamic Information Center in Dubai. He has served as the head of the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Preston University-Ajman, UAE; lecturer and director of the Da’wah and Education at Qatar Guest Center, Doha, Qatar; founder and head of the English medium Islamic studies department of Knowledge International University, Riyadh; founder and head of the College of Da’wah and Islamic Culture (English Section) at Omdurman Islamic University, Sudan; founder and head of Preston International University College in Chennai, India; and founder and Dean of the Islamic Studies Academy in Doha, Qatar. But perhaps his greatest achievement, and the one for which he was listed in the Jordanian publication, ‘The 500 Most Influential Muslims’, is the historic founding of the Islamic Online University which in only 5 years has over 80,000 students registered from every country on the face of this earth! Unlike the other educational programs he has founded and overseen over the years, IOU makes it possible for any person from any location in the world to receive an Islamic education absolutely free.
Zahir Mahmood
Shaykh Zahir Mahmood was born in England of United Kingdom. Following the completion of his formal state education at the age of 16, he enrolled at Dar al-Uloom al-Arabiyya al-Islamiyya, Bury, where he initiated his studies of the Alimiya course. Thereafter, he studied 3 years in the prestigious seat of learning al-Jamia al-Islamiyya, Karachi, Pakistan. He went on to complete his Alimiya course at the pioneering Dar al-Uloom Newcastle, South Africa, which has since been used as a template for other seats of learning in the region. Here, the Shaykh’s studies included a detailed analysis of Sahih al-Bukhari with the renowned Scholar Shaykh Qasim Seema. Returning back to the UK, he gained a BA in Applied Theological Studies from the University of Birmingham and taught the Alimiya course at Madina al-Uloom Kidderminster for a subsequent 2 years. He also translated part of the classical Hanafi text of Fiqh, al-Shurunbulali’s Nur al-Idah in English. The Shaykh currently lives in the Birmingham and captivates the heart of youths with motivation and encouragement to change. He has mastered many sciences such as Quran, Fiqh and Hadith and is licensed to teach them (Ijazah) in many Islamic Sciences from various Shuyukh. He currently teaches at the As-Suffa Institute, Birmingham. He has taught many workshops, including Arabic at various levels and Seerah (The Life of The Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and also delivered countless talks about the Sahabah (Companions of The Prophet (Peace be upon him). He has endeavoured to reach out to the youth both locally and nationally by travelling throughout the country delivering talks and lectures in order to motivate the Muslim masses to become the best of people.

AbdelRahman Murphy
Ustadh AbdelRahman Murphy is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago, with a Bachelor’s in Teaching of English and Religious Studies. He is currently pursuing his Master’s in Mental Health Counseling. He has served as a youth director, Muslim chaplain, and assistant imam in a full-time capacity since 2009. His Islamic studies background includes completing an Imam Certificate Program in Makkah, Saudi Arabia under the mentorship and training of Shaykh Khalid Hilwany. While growing up in the Chicagoland area, he spent two years studying at Riyadh As Saliheen Institute under Shaykhs Ehab Ash-Shaer and Abu Abdullah. While finishing his university studies, he benefitted directly from the training and teaching of Professor Omer Mozaffar in areas of Quran and texts of Imam Ghazali. After graduating with his BA, Ustadh AbdelRahman moved to Dallas, where he began reading classical texts with Shaykh AbdulNasir Jangda. In May of 2014, he formally graduated from the Qalam Seminary’s one-year program. Currently, he is continuing his study of the Quran and Imam Ghazali’s text with Professor Omer Mozaffar, and is working to complete his coursework of the Dars-e-Nizami curriculum directly with Shaykh AbdulNasir Jangda.
